A hybrid coffee shop and pizzeria is due to open in Newent, just in time for the Christmas season.
Located in the former Red Lion pub, Bar & Kitchen will occupy a prime location on Broad Street and its owner says it will add a new dimension to the high street.
“We wanted to create a location where both the coffee and the pizza were of the highest quality,” said founder of Andronicas Coffee – who own the new café.
“For almost 40 years, we have been brewing top quality coffee, and we thought it was time to bring our signature blend to Gloucestershire.”
“The pizzas will be made by Pizza Fuoco, experts in wood fired pizza. This is a really exciting collaboration for us.”
Bar & Kitchen will maintain an alcohol license and the large beer garden at the rear is due to be fully renovated in the Spring to offer outdoor seating to customers when the weather warms up.
The cafe will serve food throughout the day, offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner – or a place to dive into if the weather takes a turn during a shopping spree.
“We want the location to be a social space”, says Knight, “Newent residents are welcome at all times of the day – and we intend on becoming a big part of the community”.
Bar & Kitchen opened on 24th November.
